The mission of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department is to serve the residents of the town of Albion and the adjacent areas by providing emergency fire, rescue, medical, hazardous material, fire prevention and any operation needed to support the safety, welfare and well being of the community.  The Albion Volunteer Fire Department is best demonstrated in their motto of “Making a Difference” in the lives of those they serve and protect.

  • The Albion Fire Department is an entity of the Town of Albion
and consists of 35 volunteer firefighters.
  • Fire personnel provide fire protection, rescue, emergency medical first responder, hazardous material management, fire code enforcement and fire prevention services for the Town of Albion, Albion Township, Jefferson Township, Elkhart Township, York Township and Green Township.
  • Albion Fire Department also provides mutual aid assistance to all of the Noble County Fire Departments and the neighboring communities in Allen, LaGrange, Stueben and Whitley Counties and is a member of the Indiana State Wide Mutual Aid System.

The Albion Fire Department’s primary financial support is provided
by the taxpayers of the Town of Albion and the contracted Townships.
Due to budgetary limitation the Albion Fire Department finds it necessary
to raise additional funding through special fund raising activities such as
fire extinguisher sales, pancake breakfasts, fund drives and grant s.  This
money is used to supplement equipment purchases and training to improve essential emergency services to the community and surrounding areas.

Regular Business Meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, begin at 7:00 pm, and are open to the public. Meetings are held at the Albion Fire Station, 210 Fire Station Drive, Albion, IN 46701.

The motto of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department,

“Making a Difference”
reflects their overall attitude of their mission to
provide the very best emergency services
to their community and Noble County.
